Le Phare is seeking a part-time palliative care physician to join its dynamic interdisciplinary team. About Le Phare The mission of Le Phare is to provide quality palliative care to children in a welcoming environment which includes ongoing family support, respite, end-of-life, and bereavement care. Le Phare is a not-for-profit community organization affiliated with the CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’Île-de-Montréal with strong ties to Montreal’s tertiary care pediatric hospitals and provides care and services to families throughout the province of Québec. The mandate The physician position offers a unique opportunity to participate in the provision of specialized pediatric palliative care in a community setting as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team. The position is open to family physicians and pediatricians who are either fellowship trained or have prior experience in palliative care. Additional training can be offered on an as-needed basis. The physician will work as part of a robust interdisciplinary team, including 5 physicians, 2 social workers, a pediatric palliative care nurse advisor and liaison nurse, specialized recreational therapists, as well as nursing and support/administrative staff. The practice environment includes caring for pediatric patients with life-limiting or life-threatening illness throughout respite, symptom management and end-of-life stays. Rotating on-call responsibilities are shared amongst a group of 5-6 physicians, and there is flexibility built into the schedule.
