WELCOME DOCTOR JACQUES RAMSAY!

We are very happy to welcome Dr. Jacques Ramsay, the Lighthouse, Children and Families’ new medical director. Having come into position on September 6th, he has brought considerable clinical and education experience.

Dr. Ramsay teaches social medicine and palliative care at the University of Montreal’s Faculty of Medicine. He also provides palliative care at la Source Bleue, is a coroner and volunteer physician for Doctors of the World Canada, and is a member of the Marguerite-d’Youville Family Medicine Group.

Dr. Ramsay studied medicine at the University of Montreal. He has a Master’s degree in healthcare law from the University of Sherbrooke, a postgraduate certificate in public health research and assessment from the University of Adelaide in Australia.

We would like to extend our warmest welcome to Dr. Ramsay to the Lighthouse, where he will lead a team of 8 physicians and 15 nurses, but also support all of the unique, attaching, and inspiring children and their families.

GOODBYE TO A DEAR FRIEND OF THE LIGHTHOUSE!

As we welcome Dr. Ramsay, we also want to thank Dr. Micheline Ste-Marie, the former medical director of the Lighthouse, for the wealth of knowledge and humanity that she contributed. During the 2 years she was with us, Dr. Ste-Marie was a true inspiration and mentor, and we will keep preciously the pearls of wisdom that she gave us. May she enjoy her much-deserved retirement!
