Annual Cocktail Reception: Hightlights from The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse annual cocktail reception, held under the theme of the ocean, referring to the odyssey of children with a fatal illness and their families, made it possible to talk about pediatric palliative care in various forums.

The Lighthouse Annual Cocktail Reception

Members of the vibrant community of the Lighthouse gathered on March 20th, 2018 for the 17th edition of its annual cocktail reception. Some 700 people attended the event at the CDPQ Parquet to support the pediatric palliative care hospice of Quebec.

The event, co-chaired by Sophie Desmarais and Éric Bujold, President of National Bank Private Wealth 1859, raised $ 566,253 to support the costs of care and services for children and families of the Lighthouse.

During the evening, awareness was raised about the challenges and issues the Lighthouse faces, and how vital the guests’ support and that of the entire community is to continuing to provide quality pediatric palliative care and support to hundreds of families and critically ill children.

A Powerful Report Broadcasted on TVA Nouvelles

On March 11, 2018, a few days before the Lighthouse cocktail reception, TVA Nouvelles broadcasted a report on The Lighthouse Children and Families. Through the testimonials of parents, it presented the charity’s expertise in family-focused pediatric palliative care.

This is an invaluable window of visibility for the Lighthouse, and a great opportunity to address pediatric palliative care as an important social issue.

The Cocktail on Social Media

The cocktail was also a success on the Lighthouse social media, thanks to the volunteer collaboration of web strategist Amélie St-Pierre. The latter developed a digital strategy to boost the event, and therefore the organization, on the web world of Lighthouse.

Posts about the cocktail generated more than double the average response compared to the usual statistics on both Twitter and Facebook. The Lighthouse wishes to thank Ms. St-Pierre for her precious help!
